Park City could certainly stake a rightful claim of being the “perfect mountain town.” Combining its silver mining town heritage, an artistic vibe and a deep appreciation for the outdoors, Park City strikes a balance between luxury and comfort, all the while showing a deep appreciation for athletics, arts and community. Whatever your daily activity may be, you’ll work up an appetite for the diversity of fine restaurants that line Park City's Historic Main Street and beyond, and you'll want to wind down after a long day with the craft whiskeys and vodkas at the High West Distillery and Saloon.
It has a long rich history of outdoor recreation to inclu camping, boating and fishing. The dam and reservoir (1,394 surface acres) were constructed by the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) during Great Depression of the 1930s for agricultural irrigation and in the lat 1960s, local Coalville area residents began running me recreation concessions for the reservoir and resort on the property.There is now a newly created State Park with state of the art facilities, including a new boat ramp, restrooms, and boat facilities. Along with this, water rentals are available at the park; wave runners, paddle boards, floats and kayaks, all for rent at the well stocked marina store.
The Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park is a 28-mile trail for non-motorized use. The trail begins or ends at Park City and follows Interstate 80 through Wanship and Coalville to Echo Reservoir. Facilities are being developed. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, jogging, Nordic skiing and wildlife watching.
Located right outside of the back gate of the house, connects to Echo Reservoir.
