Echo State Park

This State Park has a long rich history of outdoor recreation to include camping, boating and fishing. The dam and reservoir (1,394 surface acres) were constructed by the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) during Great Depression of the 1930s for agricultural irrigation. In the late 1960s, a local Coalville resident began running a concession for the reservoir, on the property surrounding it.The reservoir and immediate area, is now designated as the newly created Echo Reservoir State Park, which has state of the art facilities.  These facilities include, a new larger boat ramp and dock, new restroom facilities, day use spots with picnic tables, a fish cleaning station, camping sites, day use group sites and a newly constructed marina store.  The marina store is well stocked with lake supplies, and also offers water rentals including; pontoon boats, jet skis, kayaks, paddle board and floats.

Historic Rail Trail

The Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park is a 28-mile trail for non-motorized use. The trail begins or ends at Park City and follows Interstate 80 through Wanship and Coalville to Echo Reservoir. Facilities are being developed. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, jogging, Nordic skiing and wildlife watching.
Located right outside of the back gate of the house, which connects to Echo Reservoir.
